Valclovir is an antiviral drug. It slows the growth and spread of the herpes virus to help the body fight the infection.

Valclovirr is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, including genital herpescold sores, and shingles (herpes zoster) in adults.

Valclovirr is used to treat cold sores in children who are at least 12 years old, or chickenpox in children who are at least 2 years old.

  • • signs of a severe skin reaction (e.g., a rash combined with fever or discomfort, a rash covering a large area of the body, a rash that spreads quickly, blistering, peeling)

Each blue, coated, capsule-shaped tablet, debossed with "VC" followed by "500" on one side and nothing on the other side, contains valclovir HCl equivalent to 500 mg valclovir. Nonmedicinal ingredients: crospovidone, FD&C Blue No. 2 Aluminum Lake, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, polyethylene glycol 400, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polysorbate 80, and titanium dioxide.
