Product Information

Lobac 10 contains 10mg of Baclofen as its active ingredient. This drug is a muscle relaxant that is used to relieve muscle spasm, tightness of muscles and muscle cramping due to medical problems like multiple sclerosis or injuries to the spine. While the drug does not provide cure to the medical problems, it however aids other treatment that help improve the condition, like physical therapy, by reducing the severity and frequency of spasms. Baclofen can also help relieve pain and improve muscle movement.

It works by acting on the central nervous system (CNS) to produce its muscle relaxing effects. The exact mechanism of this drug is not yet fully understood. However, it is believed to interact with neurons that use gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) as neurotransmitter and inhibit synaptic reflexes in the spine.

Lobac 10 is manufactured by Apple Formulations Pvt. Ltd.

Lobac tablets are taken by mouth, with or without food and swallowed whole with a glassful of water. The dosage of each patient will depend on the medical condition to be treated and the response to the treatment. Starting at a low dose is recommended to reduce the risk of side effects. Optimum dosage is achieved by titrating the drug, gradually increasing the dose until optimum effect is reached.

The recommended titration schedule is as follows:

  • 5mg by mouth 3 times a day for 3 days,
  • 10mg by mouth 3 times a day for 3 days,
  • 15mg by mouth 3 times a day for 3 days,
  • 20mg by mouth 3 times a day for 3 days

Maintenance dose will vary per individual. Additional increase to the dose may be done but must not exceed the maximum dose of 80mg per day administered as 20mg 4 times a day.

The drug must be taken regularly and at evenly spaced intervals to get full benefits from it. It must be taken continuously, even if symptoms disappear. Stopping the drug abruptly may cause withdrawal symptoms.
