Erectile dysfunction is one of the most common problems of the reproductive system. There are available medications that can help address this medical condition and one of which is Eriacta. Eriacta is a tablet that contains 100mg of the active ingredient Sildenafil citrate. Sildenafil citrate is a type of PDE5 inhibitor, inhibiting the enzyme PDE5’s action in breaking down the chemical called cGMP which is responsible for relaxing blood vessels in the penis. With relaxed blood vessels, it allows more blood flow to the penis, thereby producing an erection.
Eriacta is manufactured by Ranbaxy.
Eriacta is contraindicated to patients allergic to its active ingredient Sildenafil and all the tablet’s inactive ingredients.
Eriacta is contraindicated in patients taking nitrates and any of its forms, regularly or occasionally, because Sildenafil increases the hypotensive effects of nitrates. It is also contraindicated in patients taking GC stimulator such as Riociquat because PDE5 inhibitors like Eriacta potentiates the hypotensive effects as well.
This medication is contraindicated in men not allowed to engage in sexual activity due to cardiovascular problems.
The conditions contraindicated from Eriacta use is not limited to those stated above. It is best to seek information from a health care provider.
