Product Information

Suhagra is an oral tablet that contains 100mg of the active ingredient Sildenafil Citrate which is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Erectile dysfunction is a medical condition where men are unable to produce or maintain an erection. This medication will not produce an erection on its own. Along with sexual stimulation, Suhagra helps fill the penis with blood by relaxing the muscles in blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis which then leads to an erection.

Suhagra is manufactured by Cipla Ltd.

Below are the recommended dosages of Suhagra:

An initial dose of 50mg Suhagra must be taken an hour prior to sexual activity. However, an initial dose of 25mg is recommended for men aged 65 above, taken an hour prior to sexual activity is recommended.

As a maintenance medication, the dose may be adjusted, either lowered or increased, depending on its efficacy for every individual. 25mg to 100mg Suhagra may be taken in about 30 minutes to 4 hours prior to sexual activity. It is however important to remember that the maximum dose for Suhagra is 100mg per day.

Suhagra may be taken with or without food. But if taken with food, especially with foods high in fat, the onset of efficacy may be delayed.

Men should always begin with a lower dose of Suhagra if:

  • Age is older than 65
  • Serious kidney or liver problems is present
  • Alpha blocker medications are taken

This medication is recommended to be taken by men with erectile dysfunction and not for children and women. This medication is not an aphrodisiac and does not protect individuals from sexually transmitted diseases.

Men allergic to Suhagra, its active ingredient Sildenafil and its inactive ingredients, must not take this medication.

Suhagra is also contraindicated in men taking nitrate medications such as those for hypertension or recreational drugs because Sildenafil increases the hypotensive effects of nitrates. This medication is also contraindicated in men not advised to engage in sexual intercourse due to cardiovascular conditions, also in men with a history of Non-Arteritic Anterior Ischaemic Optic Neuropathy (NAION).

Warnings and Precautions

Prior to taking Suhagra, it’s best to check with a healthcare provider if one is healthy enough to take the medication. Suhagra has effects that may aggravate some medical conditions. For instance, Suhagra is not advisable to patients with angina because sexual activity may precipitate angina. Suhagra can also interfere with other medications, as it can lower blood pressure, hence the medication can potentiate the hypotensive effects of alpha-blockers and other hypotensive drugs.

Suhagra must not be taken with other treatments and instruments that help produce erections.

Suhagra and Alcohol

Taking Suhagra with alcohol may cause undesirable effects as both can cause lowering of blood pressure.
