Product Information

Tamilong 20 contains 20mg of the active ingredient Tamoxifen citrate. Tamoxifen belongs to a class of drugs called selective estrogen receptor modulators (SERMs) which possess both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects.

Tamoxifen is used for the treatment of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer which has spread to other parts of the body in women and in men. It is also used to treat early stages of breast cancer in women who have received treatments via surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. Tamoxifen reduces the risk of a more serious type of breast cancer in women who received other forms of treatment and those who have ductal carcinoma in situ. This drug also used as prevention, reducing the risk of developing breast cancer in women who are at high risk due to family medical history, age, and personal medical history. This drug may be used to treat other medical conditions not stated above.

Tamoxifen works by binding to estrogen receptors and blocks the estrogen’s proliferative effects on breast tissues, stopping the growth of breast tumors that require estrogen.
