Product Information

Cepmox is a brand of antibiotic that is prescribed for the treatment of bacterial infections. It contains 500mg of the antibiotic Amoxicillin. It is used to treat a wide variety of infections caused by susceptible bacteria including infections of nose, throat, ear, skin, or urinary tract, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, and gonorrhea. The following examples of bacterial organisms are susceptible to the effects of the antibiotic: Streptococcus species, staphylococcus speacies, Escherichia coli, proteus mirabilis, enterococcus faecalis, and haemophilys influenza. This antibiotic is not effective in treating viral infections like the flu or common cold. Amoxicillin may also be used in combination with other drugs such as lansoprazole and clarithromycin to treat patients with Helicobacter pylori infection and stomach ulcer.

Amoxicillin works in killing the bacteria by attacking bacterial cell wall. The antibiotic prevents the synthesis of peptidoglycan, which is responsible for providing the strength of bacterial cell wall, necessary for the organism’s survival in the human body.
